February 2013
In support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the largest ladies poker event in Canada will take place at the Cascades Casino Hotel in Langley, British Columbia, in mid-February. The 8th Annual Women’s Poker Classic will consist of a $400 team event, a $300 bounty event, and a $450 main event. The total estimated prize pool for the series is over $250,000 (based on all the events being sold out.)
The teams for the team event will be comprised of two members of whom one member must be eligible to participate in the Women’s Poker Classic. Each team will receive one seat and the team members will alternate every level. Each member of the team starts with $2500; this amount can be combined to start the tournament or played separately as each member enters into the first round of play. The event is a freezeout format where teams will be moved to new tables as the tournament field narrows until a winner is declared.
In the bounty event, players will collect $150 bounties during the first 2 rounds of play. The tournament will be staged in the shootout format where each table will play down to the designated number of players who will advance to the next round.
